Passenger rights:
Regulation VO 181/2011 of the European Parliament and the European Council concerning passenger rights in bus and coach transport came into effect on 1 March 2013. This Regulation sets out provisions for bus and coach transport, with regard to regular passenger services operating within the EU that have distances of 250 km or more. Some of the provisions apply to all transport services, including shorter distance services.

For example, the Regulation sets out passenger rights in the event of accidents, particularly concerning compensation and assistance in accordance with special rights for persons with reduced mobility, as well as passengers’ obligation to provide information in the event of cancellations or delays, and any refunds for the same.
