Cookie Declaration

We use so-called “cookies” on our website, provided that you give us your express consent. If you decline to give your consent, we will limit the use of cookies to strictly necessary cookies. These are required to ensure that our website functions correctly; no consent is required for their use. Cookies are small data sets that are stored on your device when you access our website. They help us to make our offer more user-friendly, more attractive and more secure. In this respect, a cookie is a small local file that assigns a specific ID, comprising a string of numbers and letters, to your device. As cookies contain personal data (e.g. your IP address) or may be linked to such, we provide you with comprehensive information about how they work and how we process your data. Cookies stored on your device when you visit our website may be placed there directly by us or by third parties that provide services for us (third-party cookies).

Cookies contain the following information:

– Name of the cookie;

– Name of the server where the cookie comes from;

– ID number of the cookie;

– An expiration date, upon which the cookie will automatically be deleted.

Depending on their type and purpose, cookies can be differentiated as follows:

– Necessary cookies:

Necessary cookies help make a website usable by enabling basic functions such as page navigation and access to secure areas of the website. They can only be deactivated in your browser settings, by rejecting all cookies without exception (see below). They may legally be placed on our website without your consent.

– Preference cookies:

Preference cookies enable a website to remember information that changes the way the website behaves or looks, like your preferred language or the region that you are in. The information collected through preference cookies relates exclusively to the website you visited; no information about your browsing behavior is collected. Information contained in this type of cookie is normally anonymized. These cookies can be deactivated by changing your browser settings accordingly. Functional cookies are not used on our website.

Statistics cookies: Statistics cookies help website owners to understand how visitors interact with websites by collecting and reporting information anonymously. In particular, the following information is stored: subpages viewed (duration and frequency); sequence of pages visited; search terms used that lead you to visit our website; mouse movements (scrolling and clicks); country and region of access. They do not store any personal information such as your IP address and do not permit the user to be traced. The cookies can be deactivated by changing your browser settings accordingly. If, when viewing our website, you have given us consent to use these cookies, statistics cookies will be placed on your device for the duration specified in the consent mask.

– Marketing cookies: Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites. The intention is to display ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user. Marketing cookies collect information about previously visited websites, among other things. If, when viewing our website, you have given us consent to use these cookies, marketing cookies will be placed on your device for the duration specified in the consent mask.

Depending on who the cookies are attributed to, a further differentiation can be made as follows:

– First-party cookies: These cookies are used by Dr. Richard and placed directly by our website. They are not made accessible by browsers across multiple domains; the user can only be identified from the page the cookie originates from. You can identify first-party cookies by checking the tab “provider” in the consent mask; here you will see the designation “drrichard.ch”.

– Third-party cookies: These cookies are not placed by us when you view our website, but by third parties. This is done in particular for advertising purposes. This concerns, for example, information about which pages you view and how frequently. You can identify third-party cookies by checking the tab “provider” in the consent mask; the designation “drrichard.ch” will not be present.

If you do not consent to the collection of this data, you can opt out by installing, on a one-time basis, the browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics, or you can block the cookies via our cookie settings dialogue.

Most browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you can adjust your browser settings to reject all cookies in general or only accept some types. If you adjust your browser’s cookie settings, you may no longer be able to use our website to its fullest extent. Via the browser settings, you also have the opportunity to delete all cookies already stored on your device. This constitutes a withdrawal of your consent, in accordance with Art. 7 (3) GDPR. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics

We especially wish to point out that we use Google Tag Manager (GTM) on our website, through which we integrate the application of Google Analytics 4. Provided you have given your consent, we use Google Analytics to analyze your use of the website. The data we collect from this is used to optimize our website and our advertising measures.

Google Analytics is provided to us by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) as the responsible authority for users in the EU/EEA and Switzerland. Google processes the data on website use on our behalf and is contractually obliged to guarantee the safety and confidentiality of the data processed.

With Google Analytics 4, the anonymization of IP addresses is enabled by default. Due to this IP anonymization function, your IP address will be abbreviated by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other states that have ratified the Convention on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to one of Google’s servers in the USA and abbreviated there. Google states that the IP address transmitted from your browser by Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

We use the user ID function. With the aid of user ID, we can assign an unambiguous, permanent ID to one or more sessions (and the activities within these sessions), and analyze user behavior across various devices.

During your visit to our website, your user behavior will be tracked in the form of “events”. During your visit to our website, the following data (events) will be recorded:

  • Pages viewed
  • Orders incl. sale figures and products ordered
  • Achievement of “website goals” (e.g. contact requests and newsletter registrations)
  • Your behavior across the pages (e.g. how much time you spend there, clicks, scrolling behavior)
  • Your approximate location (country and city)
  • Your IP address (in abbreviated form, so an unambiguous allocation is not possible)
  • Technical information such as browser, internet provider, end device and screen resolution
  • Origin of your visit (i.e. via which website or means of advertising did you come to us)

Personal data such as name, address and contact details are never transferred to Google.

Purposes of processing

On behalf of the owners of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your pseudonymized use of the website and compile reports about your website activities. The reports provided by Google Analytics help us to analyze the performance of our website [OPTIONAL: and the success of our marketing campaigns].

Recipients

Recipients of the data are/may be:

  • Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (as processor in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR)
  • Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
  • Alphabet Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA

The possibility that US authorities may access data stored with Google cannot be ruled out.

Third country transfer

Insofar as data is processed outside of the EU/EEA and the level of data protection does not meet European standards, we use EU standard contractual clauses  to ensure an appropriate level of data protection from the service provider. The parent company of Google Ireland, Google LLC, is headquartered in California, USA. The possibility that data may be transferred to the USA and that US authorities may access the data stored with Google cannot be ruled out. The USA is currently considered a third party country from a data protection point of view. It does not have the same rights as the EU/EEA. As the case may be, you have no right to legal remedy concerning access by the authorities.

Retention period

Google Analytics stores cookies in your web browser for two years after your last visit. These cookies contain a randomly-generated user ID, with which you can be recognized upon further visits to the website.

The data recorded is stored along with the randomly-generated user ID, which makes it possible to evaluate the pseudonym user profile. This user-related data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Other data will be stored for an unlimited period in aggregate form.

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by accessing the and changing your selection. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. You can block cookies from being stored from the outset, by setting your browser software accordingly (please see above for information).

Legal basis

The legal basis for this data processing (Google Analytics) is your consent as per Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR.
